The state's organisation "South-West scientifical center of agriculture of Ministry of Agriculture" was set up by the State's order on 13 december 2002 # 1309

there are several sub-devisions and brunches there:

Aral-lake area scientifical-research institute of agro-ecology and agriculture

Scientifical-research institute of water support.

Atirau department

Shalkar experimental site-station

The number of scientifical workers in the head center is 183 workers, where 9 PhD, 2 Academicians, candidates of science 42.

The main working fields of the sci-center:

- scientifical support of intensficiation and sustainable development of agriculture in the South-West region

- the improving the breeding technologies, methodology, new types of farm-animals, plants

- the implementation of modern technologies, the scientifical argumentation of feeding technics, modernisatioin of bio-technologies, standartisation and certification of production.

- launching the programs on developing of agro-industry in SW region

- the support during the ecological problems and ecological safety measures. 
- research of high-density-plants, resource-economical, ecological-safe technologies, rice and other plants

-diversification of plant-farming becaus of leak of water in Aral region.

- the soil improvment and restoration,  in the Aral region, the restoration of soils in the grace areas and in the zones of ecological crisis. 

- development of zonal systems of milk and meat animal-farming;

- the scientifical support of intensification and sustainable development of melioration and water situation;

- development and implementaton resource-saving technologies and sci-based norms of using of water resources, standartisation and certification; 
- scientifical support of intensification and sustainable development of agriculture in the near Caspean sea downhills.

- development and implementation into producing high-quantitative industrial, lines, types of animals, high-quality forage, and preventive measures of farm-animals;

- creation and safety and resarch of gene pool of wheat, forage and vegetables in the Caspean area;

- implementation of new types of wheat, forage and vegetables of different ecology-geographical history for the practical use;

International cooperation:

1. Ikrada - the forgaecreation and animal-farming in Central Asia farms.

2. Porgam "Development of methods on reabilitation of degradated ekosystems of river plates in the Aralks sear."

3. Simmit - the water safe technology of wheat cultures
