The wwoof kazakhstan life experiences

Hello, my name is Antoine Ravard, and I am from Poitie, France

I did a little road trip in several country during one year. The idea was to wwoof in each country. During my travel, I met obviously a lot of people, and you know, you begin to talk and you ask the traditional travellers’ questions, such as: where do you come from? Where do you go? In which country have you been travelling? And every time I was saying Kazakhstan people were very curious about it: so how it is there? etc… Indeed here we have a country that we know the name that we can approximately situated on the map (somewhere in central Asia and far East Europe…) but that we don’t know much more. That’s true the Kazakhstan is not really the first destination touristic… but still there is some (few) travellers who visit this huge country and for the bag-packers there is a warm place to welcome them in Karaganda! Situated in Karaganda, the coal miners’ city, there are plenty of things to do there such as working in the garden, helping improving the house (I participate in building a shower!) and implementing any idea that you could have! There is a little network of farms where you can work although the farmers don’t really understand the concept of wwoofing. So this is also an important work to do: helping and meeting new farmers and explain them the principles of wwoofing, and developing the network.
Despite that everything is complicate in Kazakhstan, I spent there a very nice and interesting time. If you’re full of energy and ideas, I definitely recommend you to go there!!
